What you need to do:

  • Overseeing Banqueting
    We are looking for an experience Banquet Chef to assist in our busy catering department. This past year we catered over 30 immensely successful weddings from 30- 250 persons. Also multiple Saling and other events. banquets and Christmas parties throughout the year.
    This is a full-time position from March until December with a seasonal layoff around Christmas, depending on the functions booked.
  • Follow guidelines laid out by the Executive Chef on how to prepare items, to specific needs and garnishing techniques
  • Work with the Executive Chef on ensuring food quantities are sufficient for the needs of events.
  • Work with Kitchen and Front-End Team Members to maintain high standards of cleanliness, proper storage of items and proper closing procedures
  • To ensure that exceptional guest service is provided and that our members and guests enjoy a great dining experience.
  • Some line work shifts may be available to fulfill missing hours

What you bring to:

  • Minimum six years experience and training in large quantity food preparation, food handling techniques and interpreting recipes as required.
  • Food Safe Level 1 is required, Optimum Control and online ordering are an asset.
  • Red Seal is required or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to work in a fast, high paced environment
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time, be able to push, pull, lift up to 50 lb with no restrictions.
  • Emphasis on efficiency, accuracy, professionalism and courtesy at all times.
  • Ability to commute/relocate: Vancouver point gray road, reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
  • Education: AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (required)
  • Language: English (required)
  • Licence/Certification: FoodSafe (required)
